Is this overkill for alpine routes? I want to iceclimb as well but mainly couliers and such. Is the BD Rage ice tools a better idea? |

Hey,
You won't be able to really plunge this axe into the snow on the less technical section. In my opinion a real draw back for what you plan on doing. If you already have a pair of rage's they will suit you better.
