What does this mean the helmet does not meet industry standards? Is this for skiing. Does this offer any useful protection?

Hey there,
This model is designed for skiing, it has a great removable beanie that velcros inside too. The deal regarding safety is this helmet was build more for style then protection. I personally own one of these helmets and I think it great. With that said, because of the thin padding and hard hat design its still possible to bang your head pretty good. It would be similar to skiing in a football helmet. The helmet doesn't meet CPSC standards which stands for The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Hope this helps.
