Beal Edlinger
$142.99 - 199.95

I am getting into leading sport climbing routes (have only been climbing for 1.5 years thus far). I can lead up to 5.10 currently and I hope to eventually learn to lead trad as well.

I need to buy a rope for myself to quit mooching off friends, but am looking for suggestions as far as finding a good, durable rope blended with n aeconomical price.

Can you also recommend rope length and width (I'm thinking 60 m length and around 10 mm width).

Any other suggestions/tips also appreciated.

Thanks!

A 10.2 or 10.5 is a good diameter for a workhorse rope. If you get into more long routes, fewer falls and less toproping, you can go into something thinner.

The edlinger is a great starter rope. It has alright durability and a price that's easy to swallow.

For the price, this is the only other one I'd suggest

Maxim Equinox 10.2
$142 - 144.00
