which bag would you recommend-- the Axiom Kootenay or the Axiom Lasalle? They are about the same price. I have a Sunlite Gold HD rear rack.

I'd probably go for the Axiom Lasalle. Its looks like the basic difference is gonna size. 1830in for the Kootenay and 2440in for the Lasalle. At the same price point why not go bigger unless you are worried about weight.
