Bought this REI for 450.00. Two questions: 1. Do you consider this windproof? Some say yes, others say no. My personal experience is that it gets cool in the lower back when exposed to high winds (50MPH). I'm wondering if I simply need to add more layers.
2. I saw this retailed in a mountaineering mag for 275.00. Dumb question but is it possible the jacket is cheaper because the lot was made in China instead of Canada? Hmm.

Hey,
I don't know why the price would be different.
But as per your back, it sounds like wind is getting in, make sure the bottom is snugged up and see if that makes a difference.
