Great question.
We calculate the average lowest price of the product over the past year. This tells you if the current lowest price is higher (+) or lower (-) than the current price and by what percentage.
A couple examples:
6% = Currently the lowest price is 6-percent higher than its average low price.
-3% = Currently the lowest price is 3-percent lower than its average low price.
So positive is bad, negative is good (if you're the shopper).
This is useful to know if you're receiving a fair price or not. Especially in the outdoor industry literally everything is "on sale" so knowing if that "on sale" is better than the true sale price is difficult to know if you don't monitor prices constantly. That's why we provide that #.
Thanks,
Mark
