Wondering if any one has tried the Black Diamond spinner leash? I had a pic of Steve House sporting these and an English gal I climbed with had one by Simond.
Likely just excess gear, but i was also wondering about the BD first shot for making V-threads.

Well,
I have never used the Black Diamond version, of the spinner, but made a very similar one out of webbing threaded with elastic cord. Did the job.
The first shot seems like a good idea, taking some of the guess work out of setting up the v-thread, but unless your setting v-threads often its probably just extra weight.

My local shop tried selling me the First shot. It doesn't take much practice to get a V-thread on the first shot without it. It's just extra crap to carry. |

Thanks for the replies guys, yes the first shot is extra gear but I broke my grivel v-thread hook and the first shot has a hook in addition to the screw aid. Has any one used it out there?
Also wondering how long the spinner leash is when fully extended? Have a great day all |
