 | I was told by the shop mounting my wifes Dynafits TLT on her new skis, that at the recommended DIN setting of 5, the binding would be "sketchy" when its time to release. I was told that the Dynafit dosnt work great on its lowest setting. does anyone else find this true, and if so, what can be done about it? BTW she is about 5'8" 120 and a good moderate skier.
Thanks

 | Hello Chad,
That is not a problem with Dynafit, all bindings tend not to perform well at the lowest DIN. Most likely it would be fine, but typically you want to be in the mid range of the binding. The problem she may have is with pre-release. DIN does go up with skier level so make sure she is evaluated correctly on that. Because pre-release tends to only happen with more aggressive skiing.

 | Thanks Matt, i was told the issue arrises on the rotational, or lateral release, i might just bump it up to 5 1/2 or even 6. I would think a ski hanging on to long would be better that shooting off when your scratching down an icy face.

 | I cannot suggest you do that, but in my opinion I would say it is better to have the ski stay on in that situation.
