This discussion is regarding: Backpacking Food Test
We just published the backpacking food test. How does this reflect your experience with dehydrated backpacking food? Any other tips for improving or alternatives to backpacking food?

I must have gotten some seconds from Backpacker's Pantry, cause the bags definitely do not stand up or even seal.
Don't get kung pao chicken, it's even worse than beef stroganoff.

Hey Yang.

Did the package have a transparent base? If no it is the older model so that could explain the low performance. They were recently redesigned.

I did notice that the heavily powdered meals though tend to clog up the seals. This is an issue across all manufactures though.

Mountain House is the best. Backpacker's Pantry is okay in taste but not as much substance and flavor after a hard day's hike
